HTC Desire V gets hands-on treatment & benchmarked

HTC seems to be ever increasing its smartphone range with a number of products, which have recently included the new One series of handsets and the Desire range seems to be getting bigger all the time, and today we have news of the HTC Desire V that gets some hands-on treatment and benchmarked.

There has been a variety of Dual SIM handsets available for quite a while now, but when one of the major manufacturers comes up with a dual SIM handset it gets noticed, and the team over at the Android Authority are reporting that Cnet Asia has some hands-on images of the new handset.

Just to remind you the handset features a 4-inch WVGA screen powered by a single core 1GHz Qualcomm MSM7227A processor with an enhanced Adreno 200 GPU. There is also 512MB of RAM, five megapixel camera, 4GB of on board storage expandable via the microSD card slot, Beats Audio technology, 1650 mAh battery, and it runs Android Ice Cream Sandwich.

It was found that the handset continues the recent trend of HTC smartphones with a solid and attractive unibody design. As the handset supports both EDGE and HSDPA users can receive incoming calls on the second SIM card while talking on the first one.

There is a status bar at the top of the display that shows the two networks that the device is connected to, and making a call is as easy picking what SIM card you want to call from. Despite the screens resolution of 800 x 480 the display was found to look great, but the five megapixel camera lacked the finesse of the units found on the One range, and this is put down to the lack of the HTC imaging chip.

CNMO has put up some benchmarks results for the HTC T328w, which is the Chinese version of the Desire V that can be seen below. The device is already available in China with other Asian countries to follow shortly.
