This year Android fans are being treated to a whole host of powerful and sleek handsets that take the platform to an even higher level of choice, and today we have news of the LG Eclipse that is being tipped for a fall release on AT&T and Sprint.
Some images of the upcoming handset were leaked last month and now as GottaBe Mobile are reporting via Engadget, the handset is believed to be released on both AT&T and Sprint around Halloween. The handsets User Agent Profile lists Bluetooth 4.0 Certification along with some benchmarks, and the document also confirms the handsets display’s resolution.
The Bluetooth Certification also reveals a possible release date for the device, and the benchmarks seem to confirm the carriers that will provide the handset. The Blue Certification lists the LG Eclipse as reaching North America around October 31st, 2012, which is Halloween but seeing that is still a few months away this date could easily change.
These benchmarks come in the form of AnTuTu, GL Bench, and Nenamark2 show the device coming to both AT&T and Sprint, and it was already thought the device was Sprint bound but this latest information adds AT&T to the mix as well.
The User Agent Profile lists the device Sprint only with the model number LS970, while the AT&T version shows up in the benchmarks as E970, and the User Agent Profile confirms the Sprint model has a screen resolution of 1280 x 768. Meanwhile the benchmarks have the AT&T version listed with a screen resolution of 1280 x 720p resolution.
Previously the handset was tipped to be coming with a 4.67-inch HD display, 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of on board storage, thirteen megapixel camera, and a 2,100 mAh battery unit. There has also been talk of a quad core processor but didn’t show up in this latest leaks.
