I’m sure you know that currently the biggest display smartphone in the mobile space is the smartphone/tablet hybrid the Samsung Galaxy Note, however it appears that Lenovo wants to get into the 5-inch handset game perhaps to challenge the Galaxy Note, by launching the LePhone S880 smartphone.
According to the guys over at Phone Arena by way of MicGadget, Lenovo has launched the LePhone S880 smartphone with a 5-inch WVGA touch screen for the Chinese market, and is the third LePhone handset for China.
Other than that 5-inch touch screen the Lenovo LePhone S880 offers the latest Android OS, Android Ice Cream Sandwich, is powered by a 1GHz single core Media Tek processor, 512MB RAM, a meagre 4GB storage, a 5 megapixel auto-focus rear facing camera, 0.3 megapixel front facing camera, GPS and microSD expansion.
The Lenovo LePhone S880 Android smartphone also features a dual SIM slot for GSM and WCDMA, is 9.9mm thick, has a 2250mAh battery and weighs in at 200 grams, and commands a price tag of some 2199 Yuan, roughly $345 US.
We also have a short video demonstrating the Lenovo LePhone S880 in action for your viewing consideration below; however unless you can understand Chinese the commentary wont be of much use to you, but at least you can see what the Android smartphone looks like as opposed to the Samsung Galaxy Note…enjoy.
