We know there will be people who’ve been waiting for the Acer Iconia Tab A700 to launch following the news earlier in the month that pre-orders were now open. We have heard today that the A700 tablet is now released and being shipped although when we checked on Acer’s website the black version is currently already marked up as out of stock.
We imagined that this Android tablet would be pretty popular and recently told how the 32GB version would be priced at $449.99 available in either silver or black. The silver variant still appears to be in stock and the fact that the black model is already tagged as out of stock indicates a big success for Acer although it’s a shame that initial inventory wasn’t enough. However the news isn’t all bad as the order time for the black variant is still listed at only a couple of days.
As a reminder of specs and feature we can tell you that the Acer Iconia Tab A700 has a 1.3GHz NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor, 10.1-inch full HD display with resolution of 1920 x 1200, 1GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, 5-megapixel rear camera with 1080p video capture and 1-megapixel front facing shooter. It also has one USB 2.0 port, an HDMI port, 5.1-channel surround sound, Android 4.0 ICS and around 10 hours of video playback. Dimensions are 10.2-inches x 6.9-inches x 0.43-inches and it weighs 1.47 pounds.
News that the Iconia Tab A700 was now being shipped came to us from Engadget. As we said previously the price is $449.99 and overnight shipping is free. If you want to order the device head to this Acer page. If you want to see a closer look at the Iconia Tab A700 then you can see a hands-on look on video below this story.
