Handset manufacturers and wireless carriers are quite often guilty of announcing new handsets but leaving consumers hanging on when the device will finally become available to consumers, and today we have rumours that the HTC Droid Incredible is being tipped for a July release date.
A couple of days ago we told you that Verizon had dropped the price of the HTC Rezound, which is thought to be the handset to make way for the Droid Incredible 4G LTE, and as Into Mobile are reporting since the handset was first announced more details about it have been thin on the ground, but the handset is thought to be coming on July 5th.
Some hands on time was spent with the handset back in May at CITA 2012 but since then Verizon and HTC hasn’t given much more information regarding the handset, but the device looks to continue the trend of the previous handsets in the Incredible range, which may not threaten the Samsung Galaxy S3 but will satisfy most.
The device will come packing a 4-inch qHD Super LCD touchscreen that may not be big enough for some, and considering the handsets in the rest of Verizon’s product range. It is thought though that the Droid Incredible 4G LTE will be priced at below $200, so the price level will be tempting for many.
Other features include a 1.2GHz dual core Snapdragon processor, eight megapixel BSI f/2.2 camera, NFC, 1,700 mAh battery, and a microSD slot. It should also ship with the Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating system on board coupled with HTC Sense 4.0. Originally Verizon said the device will be available shortly after its appearance in May, which makes you wonder why there has been a hold up, but hopefully the handset, will be on Verizon shelves come July 5th.
