If you have your eye on the latest Android smartphone coming from the Sony camp in the form of the Sony Xperia Go, you might like to know that the Xperia Go is now visiting the Federal Communication Commission seeking regulatory approval, which means we could see the Sony Xperia Go coming out to play in the not too distant future.
According to the guys over at Ubergizmo by way of Engadget, the Sony Xperia Go passing through the FCC is the international model, so the Android 2.3 Gingerbread smartphone will play on both EDGE and GSM networks with United States carriers, although the 900Mhz and 2100Mhz HSPA bands are for 3G in other countries.
However, it does mean that the international Sony Xperia Go handset is on track for release later in the summer, and for those over in the good old US of A that would like to be an Xperia Go early adopter can always import the Android smartphone if they desire.
A spec reminder of what the Sony Xperia Go offers the mobile world, a 3.5-inch LED backlit LCD touch screen, 5 megapixel auto-focus rear facing camera with LED flash, 720p video, 1GHz dual core processor, 512MB RAM, 8GB storage, microSD expansion up to 32GB, WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0, IP67 certified for dust and water, 3.5mm jack, runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread but will be updated to Android Ice Cream Sandwich.
