For sports fans this summer promises to offer a packed schedule as we already have the Euro 2012 finals taking place and the London Olympics begin at the end of next month, and today the Wimbledon Championships at the All England Club begin and the official application that features the tournaments schedule has been released on the Android platform.
The application has already been available for iOS users but now for the first time an Android version has been released, and according to the Android Police it offers users schedules, live scores, and much more. The application does feature a cluttered user interface but that has got to be expected considering the amount of information the application provides.
There is not only information about all the games but the official app also provides users with player profiles as well along with highlight reels, video previews, interviews, highlight reels, and golden moments photos.
Users can even tune into three ‘Live @ Wimbledon” radio channels, with one offering daily coverage and the other two focusing on No.1 Court and Centre Court commentary.
For those lucky enough to be actually going to the championships there is the Find It option that will help them find their way to a physical seat at the venue, so whether you are planning to follow the action from afar or are actually attending the app has something for everyone.
Users have found the Android app not to be as good as the iOS version but this will probably improve as it gets updated in the future, but it has received some good reviews from those that have already downloaded it. Are you a fan of Wimbledon?
Head over to Google Play to find out more and to download the free application.
