ICS Huawei Ascend D Quad delayed
Hailed as the world’s fastest smartphone back during Mobile World Congress 2012, the Huawei Ascend D Quad smartphone was expected to see release next month. However the latest word on the Android smartphone from Huawei is that the Ascend D Quad has now been delayed, with Huawei pushing back the handset until at least August.
According to the guys over at Phone Arena by way of Unwired View, the Huawei Ascend S Quad handset wont arrive until at least late August and possibly may even slip into September.
The reason behind the delay of the Android Ice Cream Sandwich packing Ascend D Quad handset is apparently the company’s own quad core chipset which has run into technical problems, although naturally Huawei is working to overcome the issues.
As such the word is Huawei expects to start mass production of the Huawei Ascend D Quad handset sometime in August, which means the Android smartphone probably wont start shipping until sometime in September.
When the Huawei Ascend D Quad does eventually hit the mobile space, the smartphone will sport a 4.5-inch IPS HD display with1280 x 720 resolution. It will come running Androids Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, eight megapixel backside illuminated rear camera that is capable of 1080p video capture, 1.3 megapixel front shooter, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of built-in memory that can be expanded via micro SD card, Dolby Mobile 3.0 Plus sound, GPS, Wi-Fi, HSPA 21Mbps, and will be powered by that problematic 1.2 GHz quad core processor, which has developed by Huawei.
So if you are waiting to grab the Huawei Ascend D Quad, it appears you have a longer wait to gain the smartphone than you first thought.
