Android Jelly Bean erected at Google HQ: video

No doubt all the Android faithful out there know that Google I/O 2012 kicks off today’s at certain times depending whereabouts you are in the world, and just like previous years, the next Android operating system takes up its traditional place outside Google HQ, confirming that it will definitely be Jelly Bean.

Yesterday a statue of Android Jelly Bean was erected at the Google campus, taking its rightful place alongside previous Android operating system statues, Cupcake, Donut, Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, and of course Android Ice Cream Sandwich.

Currently thought it isn’t too clear just what version Jelly Bean will actually be, previous rumours have claimed Jelly Bean will be the full on Android 5.0 OS, whilst recent speculation believes it will be a minor update Android 4.1, but no doubt all that will be confirmed in a few hours time at the Google I/O 2012 event.

There’s been a couple of images floating round the net of the Android Jelly Bean statue at Google HQ, one posted by Google Developers over on Google+, with the statue on it’s side, and later a fully standing image hit the net waves. But we go one better than images, as we have found a video of the Android Jelly Bean statue being erected on the lawn, courtesy of YouTube user Plafayette4.

Personally I find it somewhat strange that as the Google guys have opted for an Android robot design filled with jelly beans they have for some reason decided to forgo the antenna, which seems kind of weird having the Android robot without its ears. Anyway, head on down and hit that play button to check out the footage…enjoy.
