HTC EVO 4G LTE Google Wallet up & special deal
The HTC EVO 4G LTE smartphone is one of the hottest handsets around and was finally released on Sprint just a few weeks ago. This is judged by many to be Sprint’s best smartphone right now but it seems some users were having trouble with the Google Wallet feature. We have some good news about that plus details of a really good deal for you.
The HTC EVO 4G LTE received rave reviews in our review roundup and so for those of you who haven’t yet purchased it but were thinking of doing so, this could be a great choice for you. It hasn’t been totally without its problems though as those using Google Wallet faced various issues such as not being able to set up their Google Wallet accounts and others receiving messages to say that Google Wallet had not been certified in their country or for their device or carrier. Apparently this was due to a software bug and Google, HTC and Sprint have been working on a fix.
Now reports are coming in that Google Wallet is on its way back up for Sprint’s HTC EVO 4G LTE and Phandroid tells of multiple users saying they have now been able to add their accounts and used it to make payments as well as being able to recover prepaid account balances. The Verge also notes this news and says that they haven’t been able to fire up Wallet yet but hopefully it won’t be too long before every Sprint EVO 4G LTE user can access Google Wallet and use it properly.
In a further report The Verge tells of a special deal right now on Amazon for the HTC EVO 4G LTE. Unfortunately this very special price doesn’t apply to Sprint upgrade customers who will have to pay $149.99. However if you are purchasing the HTC EVO 4G LTE on a brand new two-year contract with Sprint then your purchase price right now is only $49.99.
Be aware though that if you cancel your new contract within 180 days you’ll be hit with a hefty $250 charge as well as Sprint’s usual $350 early termination fee. If you’re sure this is the phone for you though, it would be hard to get a better price. Head to Amazon Wireless here to purchase the HTC EVO 4G LTE at this special price but bear in mind we have no details on how long this offer will last so the sooner you decide the better.
Two pieces of good news then about the HTC EVO 4G LTE on Sprint. Will you be taking advantage of this new contract deal? If you already have the EVO 4G LTE let us know if Google Wallet is now up and running for your device? Send your comments to let us know.
