Nexus Q social streaming media player for Google Play

Along with the Google Nexus 7 and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, the Google guys introduced a new Android accessory for the home during Google I/O 2012, an accessory called the Nexus Q, which is touted as a social streaming media player for Google Play in your home.

According to the guys over at Redmond Pie, the Nexus Q can stream all a users content from Google Play including numerous HD movies and television shows, and streams all your music and entertainment directly from the cloud to your home.

The Nexus Q has a built in 25w amp so it can pair with a couple of speakers, or you can even integrate the Nexus Q with your existing home entertainment set up and A/V receiver, whilst the Nexus Q also supports NFC, Bluetooth and WiFi, and runs Android Ice Cream Sandwich, with 1GB RAM and 16GB local storage.

As for what the Nexus Q will hit your pocket for, currently the Nexus Q is only available to the Android faithful over in the good old US of A and commands a price tag of $299, and if you want the Triad speakers to go along with the device they will set you back 399-bucks.

Nexus Q has an estimated shipping time of 2 to 3 weeks, but you can register to be notified when the device is available by hitting up Google Play.
