According to an article over on The Mobile Indian, old Sammy has now started taking pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy Beam at their online store in India, and you can pre-order the Android based handset which can be yours for RS. 29,900.
The Samsung Galaxy Beam unfortunately is somewhat behind the times still when it comes to the Android operating system, as the smartphone comes running Android 2.3 Gingerbread, although word is the Beam is expected to see an update to Android Ice Cream Sandwich sometime soon.
Spec wise, the Samsung Galaxy Beam offers a 4-inch capacitive touch screen along with a 5 megapixel rear facing auto-focus camera with flash, 720p video, a 1.3 megapixel front facing snapper, 3G connectivity, 786MB RAM, 8GB on board storage, microSD expansion up to 32GB, and a 1GHz dual core processor.
Although there are a few projector phone available in India from home grown brands such as Intex, Maxx and Spice, the Samsung Galaxy Beam is the first projector phone in India to come with the Android OS aboard, and has a 2000mAh battery.
