For those Android faithful over in the good old US of A, and over here in the United Kingdom, you will soon have a new Android tablet coming out to play from French company Archos, with their series of entry level slates called Archos Elements, the first of which is the Archos 97 Carbon tablet.
According to the guys over at Unwired View, Archos have now announced the 97 Carbon tablet for both the USA and the UK, and the device will come packing the Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, and apparently sports an ‘elegant aluminum finish.’
So what else does the Archos 97 Carbon tablet offer? Well apparently the slate has a 9.7-inch IPS touch screen along with a 2 megapixel rear facing camera, 1080p video, a VGA front facing camera, a 1GHz single core processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB internal memory, full size USB port, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, HDMI out, and microSD expansion up to 32GB.
The Archos 97 Carbon tablet is said to be 11.4mm thick and weighs 618 grams, and comes preloaded with Offcie Suite Viewer, News Republic and Brief Me apps along with a demo of puzzle game World of Goo.
Price and availability wise the Archos 97 Carbon will becomes available in both the US and UK this month with the US 97 Carbon commanding a price tag of $249.99, whilst the UK version costs £219.99.
