O2 UK Sony Xperia Go July release with boring Gingerbread

For those Xperia fans over here in the United Kingdom that might be waiting for the Sony Xperia Go smartphone to come out to play in the UK, especially on O2, it appears that O2 UK has now slapped a ‘coming soon July’ tag on the Sony Xepria Go handset, which of course should mean you can pick up the handset from O2 sometime this month.

Now that O2 has put up the Sony Xperia Go as ‘coming soon, July’ you should be able to expect the smartphone to be available on shelves in a few weeks, or at least before the month is out, and apparently O2 also offers 50GB of free cloud storage for life, although it is a limited offer that will end as of the 31st of December so if you wish to take advantage of that free 50GB of cloud storage you would need to do so before that date.

The Sony Xperia Go handset is listed as a tough phone, as the device is dust and water resistant with a scratch proof display that can even be used in wet weather with wet finger tracking.

However when it comes to specifications the Sony Xperia Go is modest with a 3.5-inch Reality Display touch screen along with a 5 megapixel rear facing camera with LED flash, 1GHz single core processor, 512MB RAM, 8GB storage, Bluetooth 3.0, WiFi, and microSD expansion up to 32GB.

But unfortunately, even though Android Jelly Bean will soon be upon the mobile space, for some strange reason Sony hasn’t bothered to deliver the Sony Xperia Go with Android Ice Cream Sandwich aboard, but had opted to deliver the Xperia Go with boring Android 2.3 Gingerbread, which is quickly becoming an outdated Android OS.

Still no doubt there are those Android faithful in the UK that will find the Sony Xperia Go all the Android they like and will opt to snap up the device as soon as O2 make it available…will you?
