The Samsung Galaxy S3 (S III) is the smartphone of the moment and after a release in May in other regions has also finally been released in the U.S. The popularity of this phone has been phenomenal and it’s yet another hit for Samsung but what would Samsung think of the HDC Galaxy S3? We have to tell you that it would be easy to be fooled by the HDC Galaxy S3 but it is a fake and not the real Samsung model.
Nevertheless it’s certainly interesting to see just how close a knock-off can appear to be the genuine article and the HDC Galaxy S3 is pretty convincing at first glance. The counterfeit white Galaxy S3 comes from China, as is so often the way with decent dupes, and Chinese retailer Android-Sale got a hands-on look at the phone. On closer inspection the HDC Galaxy S3 is thicker than the real one and looking inside the specs don’t anywhere near match those of the genuine Galaxy S3.
Specs and features of the HDC Galaxy S3 include a 1GHz processor, 4.7-inch TFT display with resolution of 800 x 480, 512MB of RAM, 5-megapixel rear camera and 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera so a long way from the spec heights of the genuine Galaxy S3. It also runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread rather then 4.0 ICS. However a report on Phandroid shows a video of the phone being used and it turned out to have a surprisingly good performance. What’s more the price of the HDC Galaxy S3 is only US $209 outright and it can also support dual SIM cards.
