Motorola RAZR V to be released in Canada

Smartphone manufacturers are constantly bringing out new handsets and then releasing the devices to as many markets as possible, and we now have some news for our Canadian readers as it has been announced that the Motorola RAZR V is to be released in Canada.

We first heard about the Motorola RAZR V last month when it was announced for China, and Motorola has been busy today as it has already revealed the Atrix HD for the US. Now as SlashGear are reporting the company is bringing another smartphone to the Canadian market in the shape of the RAZR V.

The handset is almost identical to the original RAZR but with a slight redesign, and according to the company is 8.4mm thick and has the same Kevlar back panel. Motorola has stressed that there are a number of software enhancements added on top of the Android operating system.

Motorola’s RAZR V is powered by the same 1.2GHz dual core processor with 1GB of RAM, and the handset features a 4.3-inch qHD AMOLED display, eight megapixel camera that is capable of 1080p video capture. There is also a microSD card slot that can handle cards of up to 32GB, Wi-Fi b/g/n, HSDPA, and Bluetooth radios are all onboard.

The handset will come running the Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating system straight out of the box, which will come alongside the Motorola customizations. These include Smart Actions that allows users to personalize the handset and perform certain functions when triggers are activated. There is a Battery Extender feature that switches off non essential functions when the handsets battery is running low on power.

Motorola has said the Motorola V should be available to consumers during Q3 via Bell Mobility, Best Buy, Future Shop, Tbooth Wireless, The Mobile Shop, The Source, Videotron, Virgin Mobile, WIND Mobile, and WIRELESSWAVE. Unfortunately the company has yet to reveal any pricing for the handset.
