Well now it appears a book has the ability to increase sales of the Amazon Kindle e-reader; however it’s not just any ordinary book, but rather the hugely popular Fifty Shade of Grey trilogy, a series of hot books that have taken the UK by storm.
According to the guys over at Pocket-lint, the guys at UK retailer Comet have said that the Fifty Shades of Grey obsession in the United Kingdom has see an increase in sales of the Amazon Kindle by as much as 71 percent.
Fifty Shades of Grey has becomes a phenomenal success in the UK, a trilogy that has readers getting a little hot around the collar due to featuring frequent scenes of S&M in its pages, which apparently is the reason why people are snapping up the Kindle as such a rate.
Although apparently it depends on where you are located in the UK, as is seems if you live in the north, Amazon Kindle sales have risen that 71 percent whilst if you are in the South, Kindle sales have received a more modest increase of 29 percent.
According to the stats it appears that the largest quantity of Kindles where purchase between the 24th of June and the 1st of July. The Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy currently have the top four slots on the Amazon Kindle store, both as a complete set and individually.
