Apparently there’s a new over the air update for the Google Nexus 7 tablet been pushed out, and although the Nexus 7 is probably on its way to those who pre-ordered the device, the reason this latest OTA update doesn’t fall on empty ground is because of those 6000 Android tablets given to attendees at Google I/O 2012.
According to the guys over at Phone Arena by way of Android Central, this latest update to the Google Nexus 7 is build number JRO03D, and is a minor update weighing in at 859kb, and keeps the numerical build at Android Jelly Bean 4.1.1.
According to the guys, the JRO03D OTA update doesn’t seem to offer anything special, other than tech information pertaining to the “Android Tablet” screen, and includes the model number, IC number and FCC ID number that are now on the screen so you don’t have to keep looking at the sticker on the back of the device.
As mentioned above, those that pre-ordered the Google Nexus 7 tablet should see the slate making its way into their hands this week, and apparently the device does include the local search feature, just in case you were concerned it doesn’t.
If any of our readers happen to have possession of their pre-ordered Google Nexus 7 already, and have gained the OTA update, feel free to let us know if you find anything else of interest other than the tech info on the About Tablet, by dropping us a line to our comments area below.
