Consumers in the UK can now pick up the Sony Xperia P as according to Android Central the device is available to order online now, and will be available in stores from tomorrow. The handset can be had on a £27 per month two year contract with no upfront cost for the smartphone, and is also available for £289.99 on pay-as-you-go, which is not a bad price considering the hardware on offer.
The handset will come running Android 2.3 Gingerbread but as we told you recently the device is due to be upgraded to Ice Cream Sandwich early next month. The handset comes with a 4-inch reality display that features Sony’s WhiteMagic technology, and has an aluminium finish.
Powering the device is a dual core processor clocked at 1GHz and camera wise the Xperia P features an eight megapixel HD unit, with Exmor R sensor and unique Fast Capture technology. This will allow the camera to wake from the sleep mode in only one second. The handset also has an HDMI port and offers DLNA connectivity.
The £27 per month contract that the Sony Xperia P is available on is called the Ultimate Internet 500 plan, and offers users a service without the need to fear out of bundle data charges. Other features of the Sony Xperia P include 16GB of on board storage and 50 GB of online storage with Box, and the handset is also NFC compatible.
