When it comes to Android Jelly Bean tablets there is not a lot of choice, a new one added to the list is the Karbonn Mobiles Smart Tab 1 tablet running Android 4.1 OS, all sounds good so far doesn’t it?
A tablet with Jelly Bean, a price tag of around $125 and from Karbonn Mobiles, the 7-inch tab runs on a single-core MIPS processor that has been clocked at 1.2GHz, it also comes with 3G support but only via a dongle, 2-megapixel front camera, the internal storage does not show up on the official website but does have 32GB of expandable storage through a micro-SD slot, it even has around 7 hours of battery life browsing the Web and eight hours of battery on video.
This is where you can sit back and sigh because it is not all whistles and bells, we all know that the Nexus 7 has the Jelly Bean goodness, and yes the Karbonn Mobiles Smart Tab 1 tablet is cheaper than the Nexus 7 starting price of $199 but the Smart Tab 1 will only be available in India.
We say stick with the Nexus 7 because this will as said above only be available in India, the specs are not what you call inviting like the Nexus Jelly Bean tablet, it only has a single-core MIPS processor and that surely cannot be great for many apps, and it only has a 2MP rear cam, what is the screen resolution of the Smart Tab 1? Your guess is as good as ours, the Nexus 7 comes with quad-core Tegra 3 and a very high spec high-resolution display, and so for the sake of $50 we know what we would choose.
What would you choose out of the two Android Jelly tablets mentioned above? Get those comments in and let us know what you think, thanks.
