If you are over in the good old US of A and happen to own the Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket, and have been feeling somewhat left out when it comes to the latest Android operating system, Jelly Bean, as long as you don’t mind tinkering with your smartphone, you can get a taste of Jelly Bean by way of a custom ROM.
According to the guys over at Android Authority, Sk8erwitskil, a member of the XDA-Developer forums has now made available CyanogenMod 10 that delivers a taste of the Android Jelly Bean experience that can now be used on the AT&T Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket.
CM10 is still in Alpha, so you should expect several things not to be working, along with a few bugs, although apparently Google Apps, Bluetooth, WiFi, messaging, ADB, and data all appear to be working fine.
To make use of the custom ROM you will require your Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket to have ClockworkMod Recovery installed, and will need to download CyanogenMod 10 Alpha, GApps package, the SuperUser/Root package, and the DarkSide Super Wipe file.
For those that wish to give CyanogenMod 10 Alpha a whirl on their Galaxy S2 Skyrocket, you can grab all the necessary along with all the instructions by heading on over to XDA-Developers. However one must remember you do so at your own risk, and make sure you back up all your data beforehand just in case anything should go awry.
