If you are one of the Android faithful that owns one of the HTC One range of smartphones, you’ll obviously know that HTC Sense 4 delivered a more stock like Android flavour to your chosen HTC One device along with a sleek look; however it appears there is one thing that lets HTC Sense 4 down a tad, and that is the lag.
However, there is some good news for HTC One X handset owner that don’t mind tinkering with their handset, because a report over on Tapscape has it that the guys over at XDA-Developers decided to do something about that HTC Sense 4 lag, and as such have come up with a faster and smoother version of Sense 4, Sense 4.1.
A report by Geeksaber states there is only one ROM available and it is for the international HTC One X, and the HTC Sense 4.1 ROM features the following fixes for the device…
Better battery life with five hours plus screen on time compared to three hours on Sense 4, live wallpaper lag has now been fixed, WiFi dropping icon shows weak signal fixes, dedicated button in the camera app to switch between rear and front facing snappers, a new faster kernel that scores 59oo+ in Quadrant benchmark, and a dedicated button to switch tabs in the browser.
Sense 4.1 also offers the total removal of all 3D Effects in the launcher that leads to a totally lag free experience, the ability to revamp the recent apps button/ Long press recent apps/Long press Home as Menu, and removes the Virtual menu bar, and ‘probably the most important’ it is rebased on Android 4.0.4.
So there you go, if you don’t mind tinkering with your Tegra 3 HTC One X smartphone, you can of course grab all the necessary along with instructions on how to do so by heading on over to the XDA-Developers forum, although naturally you download and install the ROM at your own risk, but if you do then feel free to let us know how it all goes.
