Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 new Student Edition Bundle $250 for limited time

It’s that time of year when attention turns to special deals and back to school offers for students and one such deal has come to our attention today. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 Android tablet is on offer from today until September 1 in a Student Edition Bundle for $249.99, which includes some pretty tasty extras. The whole bundle contents would usually retail for a total of $350, that’s quite a saving.

This deal includes a glossy white 8GB Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 tablet (usually $249.99 on its own) as well as a keyboard dock and USB adapter. While it may not be the Google Nexus 7 tablet that’s currently selling in droves and is actually $50 cheaper, we have to remember the extras that come with the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 tablet are well worth having, especially at no extra price. The Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 runs on Android 4.0 ICS and has an integrated IR blaster, Smart Remote app, memory card slot, pre-loaded Polaris Office and is fully Google certified.

The Student Edition Bundle is available through September 1 while stocks last and Amazon, Best Buy, Costco, Fry’s and Tiger Direct are all included among participating retailers. Key specs and features include a 1GHz dual-core processor, 7-inch TFT WSVGA display with resolution of 1024 x 600, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of built-in memory (expandable via microSD to 32GB), a 3-megapixel rear camera, video playback at 1080p and VGA front-facing camera. There’s also Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, USB 2.0 host, 3.5mm ear jack, 30-pin IF connector, GPS and stereo speakers.

Samsung states one of its priorities as being the educational market according to the official press release as seen at Engadget. Samsung marketing executive Travis Merrill said the bundle “is sure to be appealing to just about any student at a very competitive price point,” and the new bundle also comes with an insert that features a series of recommended educational apps from Google Play.
