If you are one of the Android faithful over in the USA that prefers an HTC built Android smartphone, and your carrier of choice happens to be Cricket Wireless, and have had your eyes on the HTC One V handset, you might like to know that HTC has now announced that the Android toting HTC One V will soon be playing nice on Cricket without contract.
The news of the HTC One V coming to Cricket Wireless comes our way by Android Authority and by way of Tech Hog, and for those interested parties, the HTC One V will become available from Cricket as of the 2nd of next month, and commands a price tag of $269.99 off contract.
The HTC One V is a basic Android handset that offers the user a 3.7-inch TFT touch screen along with a 5 megapixel rear facing auto-focus camera with LED flash, 720p video, a 1GHz single core Snapdragon processor, 512MB RAM, 4GB built-in storage, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi, 3.5mm jack, and microSD expansion up to 32GB.
The HTC One V is an Android Ice Cream Sandwich device that measures 120.3 x 59.7 x 9.2mm with a weight of 115 grams, along with a 1500mAh battery, and comes with HTC Sense UI and Beats Audio technology that should work well with Cricket’s Muve Music service that offers unlimited downloads along with access to exclusive artist music and video.
Obviously the HTC One V doesn’t really compare to the dual core and quad core Android smartphones that are now available, but the One V doesn’t seem to be a bad deal considering that reasonable Cricket off contract price.
So we’d like to know if any of our US readers over the pond will be snapping up the HTC One V from Cricket in the near future, or do you feel the device is simply too low speced for your tastes?
