For those over in the USA that own the LG Lucid on Verizon that have been waiting for the Android Ice Cream Sandwich update to be rolled out to your handset, the Big Red is pushing out the ICS update, which was pushed together with the Android ICS update for the Motorola Droid Bionic.
According to a report over on The Droid Guy, the Android Ice Cream Sandwich update for the LG Lucid is an over the air update weighing in at 384MB or can be grabbed via the Verizon Upgrade Assistant Tool and along with the stock ICS the update delivers there are new functionalities added for better customer support.
New features with the Android Ice Cream Sandwich update for the LG Lucid include a Remote Diagnostics tool that enables customer services representatives to remotely access the handset so they can troubleshoot the device is needs be, or demo or training purposes.
The ICS update to the LG Lucid also delivers a more stable GTalk video chat, Adobe Flash Player is upped to v11 with Ice Cream Sandwich compatibility, whilst apparently videos will load faster and run more smoothly, albeit depending on your internet connection of course.
LG Lucid owners can now also switch on the LCD backlight during voice calls via the power button, whilst voice quality is said to be improved, what and learn videos can now be streamed, whilst the File Manager can now manage both local and cloud saved files.
Owners of the LG Lucid on Verizon should receive a notification on the Ice Cream sandwich update availability or they can of course check for the update manually by hitting About Phone, Software Update, Check For Updates.
