If you are over here in the UK and in the market for an Android slate this holiday season, but don’t wish to shell out a small fortune, you just might like to know that UK retailer Carphone Warehouse has now sliced the price off two Android tablets, the Google Nexus 7 and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (WiFi) 7-inch 8GB SIM free tablet is now up for sale at Carphone Warehouse with a skimpy price of £149 rather than £199, a saving of £50, and if you are attracted by that price and think you might pick up a few as Christmas gifts, you need to know that the offer is limited to only two tablets per person.
Likewise, the Nexus 7 tablet 32GB version also goes on sale at Carphone Warehouse today at a cost of £189, which is £10 less than Google Play UK and other retailers.
So a quick reminder of what each Android tablet offers the user, the Galaxy Tab 2 offers a 7-inch PLS LCD touch screen, along with a 3.15 megapixel rear facing camera, 720p video, a VGA front facing camera, a 1GHz dual core processor, Bluetooth 3.0, 1GB RAM, 8GB internal memory, microSD expansion up to 32GB, runs Android Ice Cream Sandwich, and sports a 4000mAh battery.
When it comes to the Nexus 7 the tablet offers a 7-inch LED backlit IPS LCD touch screen along with a 1.2 megapixel front facing camera, Bluetooth, NFC (Android Beam), a 1.3GHz Tegra 3 quad core processor, 1GB RAM, 32GB storage of course but no microSD expansion, runs Android Jelly Bean 4.1, and packs a 4325mAh battery.
So there you go, if you are in the market for a not too expensive Android tablet one of these two just might fit the bill.
