Of course we at Phones Review like to bring readers all the news about the latest smartphones and tablets but every now and then a concept idea comes along that interests us enough to pass on to our readers. The Microsoft Surface tablet has been getting a lot of attention over the last few weeks and more and more people are using tablets now for gaming, so imagine an Xbox Surface tablet. We have a full rendering to show you with specs that include SmartGlass.
A couple of days ago we told readers about rumors of an Xbox Surface tablet with several sources saying that Microsoft is currently working on this project. There were also rumors of some initial specs but it wasn’t yet clear if this was a real product that would eventually emerge or not. This vision today comes from Shaik Imaduddin who came up with the Xperia Vita gaming phone and while it may not ever actually hit the shelves we’d like to hear from readers about what they think of it and whether it’s something they’d be interested in.
The Xbox Surface tablet idea has commendable specs that could make many people sit up and take notice such as an NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor with custom GPU, a 7.5-inch display with resolution of 1920 x 1080, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory. Add to that a 5-megapixel rear camera and 2-megapixel front-facer, integrated Kinect and SmartGlass with the ability to connect to Windows 8, Windows RT and Windows Phone devices and also the Xbox console and you have something that we think could see a real demand.
Part of Imaduddin’s idea, as reported by Concept Phones, is that that gaming controls would be added to the standard Surface tablet. You would therefore see the D Pad and analog stick to the right and another analog stick and action buttons to the left of the tablet. The rendering that you can see above is actually pretty cool and we think it would be a stylish addition to the tablet market.
What do you think? Is the Xbox Surface tablet something you’d like to see come to fruition and do you think it would be a popular addition to current tablet devices? What do you think of the design that Imaduddin has come up with? Why not let us know by sending your comments to us.
