HTC Butterfly up for UK pre-order
The other day we reported that the HTC J Butterfly would arrive on KDDI in Japan as of the 9th of December, and followed on with a report that for the global release of the Android smartphone the name would lose the ‘J’, and that the Butterfly would be seeing release around the world in the coming weeks, or months.
However, for those over here in the United Kingdom, it seems that if you have been waiting to place a pre-order for the HTC Butterfly as an unlocked and SIM free smartphone in black, you can now put in your pre-order for the device over at Expansys.
Expansys has now made the HTC Butterfly available for pre-order in the United Kingdom, however, currently the handset doesn’t mention just when the Android Jelly Bean packing smartphone will be released.
Furthermore, the etailer also makes no mention of just how much the SIM free handset will hit your pocket for, but does state they will not charge your credit card without confirming if you wish to proceed once stock arrives.
In case you may have forgotten, the HTC Butterfly is the global variant of the HTC Droid DNA over in the USA, and sports a 5-inch full HD touch screen protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 2, an 8 megapixel rear facing camera with LED flash, 1080p video, a 2.1 megapixel front facing snapper, 2GB of RAM, 16GB internal memory, a 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 quad core processor, microSD expansion up to 32GB, and runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
The HTC Butterfly measures 143 x 70.5 x 9.08mm with a weight of 140 grams and has a 2020mAh battery along with the usual WiFi, Bluetooth, DLNA, A-GPS, 3.5mm headphone jack and built-in Beats Audio tech.
So there it is, if you are after the HTC Butterfly as a SIM free unlocked handset here in the UK, you can now pre-order the device. Will any of our UK readers be placing a pre-order?

I won’t be pre-ordering, but I will be buying as soon as it’s out! A white or red model 🙂
This is a perfect device, except the battery. HTC has always fell short on the battery department. Well I guess I can live with it by buying a mobile battery pack. I want that IGZO 1080p screen.
