Nexus 4 Jelly Bean 4.2.1 MMuzzy ROM will not disappoint
Okay so the supply problems of the Google Nexus 4 by LG have been well documented but although this has been a problem for Google we should never forget that the Nexus 4 is undoubtedly a very impressive handset at a very impressive price through Google Play, when available. One of its biggest attractions is that it’s a pure vanilla Android smartphone and so will be among the first to get the latest updates and appeals to many users who enjoy the experience of customizing their devices. Today then, for those lucky customers who have managed to get hold of the Nexus 4 we have details of a Jelly Bean 4.2.1 MMuzzy ROM that will not disappoint.
There will be those of you who are keen on tinkering with your Android devices and if you’re not one of those then this article is probably not for you. Nevertheless we know we have a large amount of readers who really enjoy this aspect of owning a smartphone. We cannot recommend using custom ROM’s and tampering with devices and if you choose to do so it is entirely your own responsibility but we do like to bring news for those who like customization, to keep you informed.
The MMuzzy custom ROM for the Nexus 4 E960 was created by mmuzzy, an XDA Developers member who has come up with other very decent ROMs for Nexus devices. The MMuzzy ROM has been described by beta testers as a “lean and fast build,” and is based on AOSP official source build JOP40D. The developer has managed to make the AOSP ROM even more functional and smooth with the MMuzzy ROM and it comes with root, is deodexed, and has an expanded Desktop and the most up-to-date SuperSU as well as more. No major bugs are evident and it appears to be a stable ROM.
If you want to flash the MMuzzy ROM for your Nexus 4 please note that it will only work for this particular phone and when you flash the ROM it’s recommended that you first turn off background sync. This should hopefully prevent significant lag when installing the ROM. Also remember to backup your important personal data and check you have at least 50% battery power before you begin. You’ll need a rooted Nexus 4 model E960 with both ClockworkMod Recovery and an unlocked bootloader as well as the MMuzzy ROM download link, Google Apps package and optional Superwipe. All of these download links can be found at Android Authority here along with step-by-step instructions.
We’d really like to hear from readers about this MMuzzy ROM. If you install it on your Nexus 4 please let us know if this improves your Nexus 4 experience even more? What are the best changes using the ROM? Share your thoughts and recommendations with other readers by letting us have your comments.

so much for pure android, doesn’t this negate the purpose?
Yes pure android but having performance tweaks to add on to it is nice. Also free wireless tether!
Not at all, it adds a lot of features that Google misses. The point of having an unlocked, unbloated Android phone is so that we can choose what we do with it. I for one greatly enjoy the Paranoid Android ROM that allows me to alter the PPI that apps think my phone has, letting me use the tablet version of apps that fit nicely on my screen. Tweaking the display settings to fix the lack of calibration is also nice.
Uhh no, the whole point of a Nexus device is that it can be altered and tinkered with to no end. The stock android is just what Google has to put on it with no weird skin on top.
Odd that this article comes 2 weeks after this ROM was released. Why not have a post with the most popular ROMs and detailing the features of each.
