There is a growing anticipation for what Samsung is going to launch into the smartphone world this year, and this has seen a number of rumours emerge about some of the company’s flagship devices to be released this year. Samsung has teased an image of its upcoming Exynos 5 Octa processor that could be seen in the Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3 when they are launched this year.
The company has recently provided an official image of the Exynos 5 Octa processor on its Twitter page, but there were already images of the processor already doing the rounds as you can see in a previous post. There is a good chance though that Samsung will use the Exynos 5 Octa processor in both the Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3 when they are released later this year.
It is widely believed that we could see the Samsung Galaxy S4 pretty soon with a Samsung Unpacked event being tipped for March 22nd with a release suggested for the following month, and this previous rumour was recently backed up via claims from sources that were alleged to be close to a UK retailer.
Samsung’s new processor with its eight cores made an appearance at the recent CES 2013 event in Las Vegas and the company is promising it will be the most powerful processor that has been used in a mobile device so far.
We have heard previously that the company is planning on launching hardware running the Tizen operating system this year, but it is not known if this will come on either the Galaxy S4 or Note 3. This would allow the Samsung to have more control of what it delivers to end users and the rollout of updates, but it’s debateable how this would go down with Samsung fans if it was used on the company’s flagship smartphones. Would you be disappointed if the Samsung Galaxy S4 was released without the Android OS?
