We always try to keep our readers in the know about software updates for their devices and today if you’re the owner of an HTC Droid DNA on Verizon then it’s your turn. Verizon has just posted support documents about software update version 2.04.605.2 and although this is not Jelly Bean 4.2 it will bring your device some improvements and bug fixes.
The first update to hit the Droid DNA is 103.5MB in size and once the support documents have been issued then the update usually starts to roll out within a week. Verizon and HTC both encourage Droid DNA owners to use the update and features and enhancements include hotspot connectivity improvements, the ability to load videos on HuluPlus, better audio quality when using wired headsets and earpieces and improvements to Bluetooth connectivity and volume level.
Other changes include more stability for the Contacts list, improved Wi-Fi connectivity, zooming capability for default browser and correct timestamp for the incoming messages display so there’s plenty worth having from the update. The download will take around 8 to 10 minutes and if you have the Droid DNA you should receive notification when your update is ready.
You may also be interested in our recent post about a Jelly Bean custom ROM that’s now available for the Droid DNA. Although we usually recommend readers wait for official updates for their devices and if you use a custom ROM it’s at your own risk if anything goes wrong, we also know that many Android device owners like to use these kind of ROMs for their phones and tablets.
Hopefully the new Droid DNA software update build 2.04.605.2 will be arriving imminently and we’d like to hear if you will download this update? If you receive notification let us know by sending your comments and we can share with other readers that the rollout has begun.
