The smartphone world is constantly changing all the time and once flagship handsets are quickly replaced, and sometimes in under a year, and that can certainly be said about the Samsung Galaxy S3 that has seen a price drop in readiness for the new model release.
Samsung introduced the world to the Samsung Galaxy S3 last May, and has now sent out invites for the event that will see the unveiling of the Galaxy S4. As it can be expected the price for the Galaxy S3 has begun to drop in a number of retailers around the world, with prices expected to fall even lower as we get closer to the release of the Galaxy S4.
US consumers can currently pick up the S3 with a new two year contract for $99 from Staples brick and mortar stores, and in the UK online retailer Amazon now has the handset priced at £349.99 for an unlocked version of the device.
In India the Galaxy S3 when it was first released came with a price of around of Rs. 43,000, but online retailer Flipkart has the handset listed for only RS.29, 500, although at the time of writing it is showing every colour option as out of stock.
This trend will only continue as the weeks go on and Samsung are still likely to provide stock of the Galaxy S3, as the previous S2 remained available to purchase long after the new Galaxy was released.
If you are not worried about having this year’s Galaxy S model picking up the Galaxy S3 could prove quite a bargain, as you get a handset that features a 4.8-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 powered by a quad core processor running at 1.4Ghz with an 8MP camera on the back, and the handset is currently running the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean OS with an update to 4.2.1 on the cards.
Will you be picking up the Galaxy S3 as the price begins to drop?
