HTC Desire X 4.1 Jelly Bean update could be coming

As well as new product information we always like to bring readers news on the latest operating system updates for their smartphones and tablets. We could have some promising news today then for HTC Desire X owners because if you thought your device may be left behind on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, it looks as though you may soon be treated to the 4.1 Jelly Bean update.

A version (PM66xxx) of the HTC Desire X has been listed at the Bluetooth SIG with a giveaway mention under the design description that it has Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Therefore we would expect that an official rollout of the Android Jelly Bean update for the Desire X will begin quite soon and if you have this device you will then receive the benefits of this upgraded OS.

It’s possible that many users of this device may have imagined it would not be updated to Jelly Bean as it’s very much a mid-range device that didn’t gather a lot of attention when it was launched last year. The Desire X has a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon dual-core processor, 4-inch Super LCD display with resolution of 800 x 480, 768MB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory, expandable via microSD.

The Desire X also has a 5-megapixel rear camera, 1,650 mAh battery and Beats Audio and once it receives the update to Jelly Bean users will see new features such as Google Now and Project Butter, along with many more improvements and changes. We will be keeping our eyes peeled for more verification that Jelly Bean is heading to the Desire X and will pass on that information as we hear it.

    ITS ALREADY TOO LATE. ONE THING I HAVE NOTICED THAT SAMSUNG IS ALWAYS AHEAD TO PROVIDE UPDATE. NEXT TIME I WILL NOT CHOOSE HTC , YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT 4.1? ALREADY 4.2 AND 5.0 GOING TO UPDATE IN OTHER COMPANIES. IF SOMEONE HAS SPENT MORE THAN 18000 INDIAN RUPEES THAN DEFIANTLY WILL EXPECT OS UPDATE.BUT NOT THIS MUCH LATE. TILL THEY WILL PROVIDE UPDATE, I WILL BE ON THE WAY TO BUY NEXT PHONE, WHERE IS THE SENSE IN THIS BY HTC?

    Yay! I really hope this is coming, it was a big let down for me when I bought this phone late last year, just to fnd that HTC will not be updating it to JellyBean.

    I am proud to own HTC devices since my brand is always HTC from 2009. Surprise to note the delay on updates particularly Android 4.04 to 4.1 or 4.2 or 5 resulting frustration effected as well as developing as inferior owner compare to other brands.
