Many of you will be fans of LinkedIn, the social network aimed at professionals and will already be users of its popular iOS and Android app that was recently revamped. Today LinkedIn has launched a new standalone iOS app for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad called LinkedIn Contacts, touted as the “smarter way to stay in touch” and we have details of the app for you.
The LinkedIn Contacts iOS app is a place to gather all of your contacts from various address books, emails and calendars, such as Gmail, Google Calendar, Yahoo! Mail, Outlook Mail, Evernote and many more and keep them updated. Users can be made aware of job movements and birthdays and a really useful feature is that it enables users to review where they left off a conversation before contacting that person again.
Users can also find details of the person they have a meeting with and sort contacts either by location or company or recent conversation. The LinkedIn Contacts app arrived at the App Store today and is compatible with the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (3rd, 4th and 5th generation) and iPad running iOS 5.0 or later.
This is a free app and has been optimized for iPhone 5. The LinkedIn Contacts app is available from iTunes here and the service is also available at LinkedIn.com. It will be interesting to see if this Contacts app takes off and how quickly it becomes adopted.
