While a lot of headlines centre around the company’s flagship smartphones Samsung has a number of cheaper handsets available, and this has just increased as the Samsung Galaxy Young gets a UK release with a device that won’t break the bank.
The Galaxy Young is basically the replacement for the Galaxy Y that was seen last year, and will be available in the UK this coming Bank Holiday weekend. The device is a bit of a step up from the older model and comes with a 3.27-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 480 x 320 and 176ppi pixel density.
Under the hood is a 1GHz processor which is believed to be of the single core variety along with 768MB of RAM that is running the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system. You only get 4GB of on board storage but luckily this can be expanded by a further 64GB via a microSD card.
Camera wise you are limited to a 3-megapixel rear facer and that is it, and if you want to take video you are restricted to only 640 x 480 resolution on a device that measures 12.5mm thick. According to TechRadar the handset will be available for a Pay as you go price of only £89.99, while on contracts it will be free on monthly contracts priced from £9.50.
While users of the handset won’t be able to play the latest and greatest Google Play games the device doesn’t seem to bad considering the amount of cash that is needed to get hold of one.
