There are many consumers looking forward to the availability of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 later this year, but it seems the device won’t be having things all its own way this time around in the phablet market as an HTC T6 is rumoured to battle the device with some standout specs.
Samsung is set to unveil its new phablet device in September but there are growing rumours that HTC is about to offer a similar sized device in the coming months that will build on the success of the HTC One.
Serial tipsters @evleaks took to The Unlockr to provide details on the yet to be announced HTC T6, and the device is expected to come with a 5.9 Full HD touchscreen display just like the Galaxy Note 3. The device will have a stylus but with a more premium feel to it that would include an ultra thin tip capable of a number of things.
The device will supposedly feature the quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at 2.3GHz along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage that will also have expansion capabilities thanks to microSD card support.
It is believed the device will be basically a larger version of the HTC One and will be a similar move that Samsung has made with the Galaxy S and Galaxy Note devices in the past. The HTC T6 will also have BoomSound speakers with an UltraPixel rear facing camera, while around the front there is claimed to be a 2.1-megapixel unit with a wide angle lens.
HTC looks to be taking care of battery life on the device with a 3,300 mAh unit inside the handset along with a protective case that will provide an extra 1250 mAh power plant. Another rumoured feature of the handset is a fingerprint reader that will be placed on the rear of the device so when a user picks the handset up it will automatically unlock.
While this is only rumours it looks like consumers will have some interesting choices to make later this year.
