Google Translate app for Android and iPhone, former updated

#

At Phones Review we enjoy bringing our readers news of useful or entertaining apps for their various devices. One of the most helpful apps we have on our smartphones is the Google Translate app. This is available for Android and iOS devices, and the former has just received an update.

The Google Translate app comes from Google Inc., and is a great resource if you often travel or have multinational friends and acquaintances. It’s a handy way of breaking down language barriers and supports dozens of languages. With the help of this app you can translate speech and text and also listen to your translations aloud.

Google Translate allows users to input using either voice, camera or handwriting and also enables people to save their favorite translations and sync them across various devices. If you just have a single word or phrase to look up there are also dictionary results. The Android version of the app has recently received an update that enabled the syncing capability and also added more languages for camera input.

Google Translate for Android is available from Google Play here. It’s a free app, and Android compatibility varies by device. Alternatively you can download the iOS Google Translate app from iTunes here. This is also a free app and it’s compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad running iOS 3.0 or later.

This app is something we use much more than we ever imagined, so why not give it a whirl. Will you be downloading the Google Translate app from Google Play or the App Store? Maybe you already use it and can recommend it, or not, to other readers?
