The Motorola Droid smartphones for Verizon are always hugely popular, and there have been some leaks lately regarding the upcoming Motorola Droid Ultra and other models of Droid smartphones. Now a new leak suggests the Motorola Droid Ultra release in the Verizon lineup could be set for August 8.
The new leak comes from a commercial storyboard, with the ad saying that the Droid Ultra has Kevlar coating, as had been rumored previously, and Gorilla Glass. It also claims that the Droid Ultra will be able to stand up to the bumps and scrapes of everyday life, being kicked across a dance floor being used as an example. The ad also offers up some other information regarding the Droid Ultra, with mentions of an active listening mode feature and also a Nav Mode, though it’s not quite clear yet what either of these entails.
As a release date of August 8 is shown for the Droid Ultra, it’s also likely that other Droids in the lineup will be launched at the same time, as happened last year. The leak came to us from Android Central but the site has now had to pull the image of the storyboard so we can’t show it to you here. Of course we cannot verify if this was a genuine promo for the Droid Ultra, but it seems there’s every chance that it was.
Another leak, this time regarding the Droid Maxx, claims it will have a vast 48 hours of battery life. It’s possible that the Droid Maxx will be the same as the Droid Ultra then, but with a boosted battery capacity. This should certainly be an interesting month ahead, and if the usual pattern is anything to go by we’ll see more and more information about the new Droid series leaking out.
