Sony has been busy so far this year in the smartphone world by first releasing the Xperia Z before adding the Ultra version, and it seems we are not far away from another handset as the Sony Xperia i1 Honami gets benchmarked with the specs revealed.
The Sony Xperia Honami has recently visited the FCC in the US which is also another indication the handsets release is getting closer, but now the handset has appeared on the benchmarking site GFXBench with the model number of C6903.
A look at the information shows the smartphone is sporting the quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 but clocked at 2GHz, but the same chip on the Sony Xperia Z Ultra has the processor clocked at 2.2GHz so this is more likely on the final retail version of the device.
There is the Adreno 330 GPU for the graphics and the device is running the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system, and the benchmark shows the handset has a screen resolution of 1794 x 1080 so this confirms the Sony Honami has a Full HD display.
It is believed the handset should be launched in September with a release by the beginning of October, which is around the same time the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is down to arrive along with the iPhone 5S, so it will have some stiff competition to go up against.
The device is also expected to feature a 20.7-megapixel rear facing camera and again be dust and waterproof just like the other smartphones that Sony has launched this year.
Do you think the Sony Xperia i1 will be a worthy handset to consider?
