On the Android platform we have become accustomed to seeing smartphones increasing in size, which is great if you want a big handset but not everyone wants a device with a large form factor. Some manufacturers have been releasing smaller versions of flagship devices but these have come with lesser internals, but a Sony Honami mini is now rumoured with high end specs.
We have seen a number of mini versions of handsets released recently but these have often came with lesser internal specs, but while we have yet to see the full sized Sony i1 Honami officially announced yet, rumours have emerged of a mini version in the works.
The leaked specs include a 4.3-inch Triluminos display at a resolution of 720 x 1280 and powered by the Qualcomm quad core Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at 2.2GHz, which is coupled with 2GB of RAM.
There is supposedly 16GB of on board storage with expansion possible via the microSD card slot, and the power will be supplied by a 2,400 mAh battery unit. If true Sony will still be supplying the same 20.7-megapixel rear facing camera, which will also feature the same Sony G lens, f/2.0 aperture and the same 1/2.3″ sensor.
So if these claims pan out the only real difference between the two handsets is a smaller screen size with a lower resolution along with a smaller capacity battery. The device has allegedly got the code name of Ray3 but until any of this information is confirmed it will have to be taken with a large pinch of salt.
