We cannot overstate just how much interest there is in the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 smartphone. This device will be unveiled on Wednesday, and as we always expect before a major product launch, leaks are turning up thick and fast. Today we want to look at some of the latest information as Samsung Galaxy Note 3 teasers abound ahead of the launch.
A few days ago we took at look at some of the many leaks so far regarding the design of the Galaxy Note 3. Even since then we have heard more snippets regarding the Note 3 including news of LTE versions, a concept, lockscreen wallpaper, and a price hint.
Kicking off, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 LTE version with model number SM-N9005 has passed GCF certification. This documentation lists support for LTE 2100/1800/850/1600/800Mhz (Band1,3,5,7,20), WCDMA 2100/1900/900/850Mhz, and GSM 1900/1800/900/850 Mhz frequencies and so will be compatible for many regions and networks.
In more news, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 LTE-A variety for South Korean has had the Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor confirmed at a KT Corporation press conference, according to G for Games. Although this had been strongly rumored, this is the confirmation that many people wanted to see. We know that some models of the Galaxy Note 3 will use the Exynos 5 Octa-core processor, but there has previously been news of difficulties with producing this SoC.
As well as this Evleaks, the ever-reliable source of forthcoming device leaks, has now come up with lockscreen wallpaper from the Galaxy Note 3. The resolution shown confirms that the device will have 1080p resolution and you can see the wallpaper featured in the image of a concept of the Galaxy Note 3 below this story.
The concept Galaxy Note 3 was created by a Korean website based on the display frames that were recently leaked and other factors. The very slim bezels depicted on the concept image that you can see below, reflect the widespread reports that the Note 3 will indeed have very thin bezels and a larger display in approximately the same size form factor. This concept design comes from Stellist Design (Google Translated).
In one final snippet of news for today, some pricing for the Galaxy Note 3 has been speculated. Yesterday we discussed the price of the Galaxy Note 3 and felt it would be around the same as the Galaxy Note 2 when it was released last year. We suggested a price of around $299.99 on-contract, or an off-contract price of around $700.
This seems to be borne out by a Russian website, as reported by Phone Arena, that claims the phone will go on sale there at around 29,990 rubles. Although this equates to around US $898, prices of devices in Russia are very often more expensive than in other regions, so it still looks as though that $700 price tag is not unreasonable to consider.
That’s about all we have for you on the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 for today, but no doubt more leaks will have appeared by the time this article is published. There are now only two more days to go before the September 4 event where we will see the Galaxy Note 3 revealed and finally hear all of the confirmed details. We’ll continue to pass on news as we hear it about this much-awaited device.
