If you’re even vaguely interested in smartphones you will already know that the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 smartphone launch event takes place today. We’ve still quite a few hours to go until the start of the unveiling, and we thought we’d round up some of the launch day Samsung Galaxy Note 3 expectations.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is one of the most eagerly awaited devices of the year and we’ve written copious amounts of articles regarding leaks, rumors and insight into this handset. The Samsung Unpacked event takes place in Berlin today, and as well as the reveal of the Galaxy Note 3 we also expect to see the official introduction of the Samsung Galaxy Gear smartwatch.
The event kicks off later today, and for details of live streaming and the time of the event wherever you are in the world please check here. Now we can turn our attention to expectations, and leaked news has been flooding in over the last few days. Of course we must bear in mind that everything we know, or think we know so far is unconfirmed at this point.
It’s interesting to consider the possibilities though, and just in the last few days we’ve rounded up some of the leaked images of the Galaxy Note 3 design. From everything we’ve seen so far it appears that the form factor of the Note 3 will be almost the same size as the Note 2. It’s likely to be a little longer, but despite the fact that the Note 3 will have a larger display than the Note 2, the phone looks like being the same width due to having much slimmer bezels.
Recently we rounded up the latest leaks about the device including news on LTE variants, the lockscreen wallpaper, a concept based on leaked information, and possible pricing. One of the aspects that most people are concerned about though regards the specs and features of the Note 3.
We know that the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will have different processors depending on region. Some models will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor, while other models will pack the Exynos 5 Octa processor. However, there have been recent rumors that models with the Exynos CPU may be delayed.
Other rumored specs for the Note 3 include a 5.68-inch Super AMOLED Full HD display, 3GB of RAM, and 16, 32 or 64GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD). However just yesterday it was reported that RAM could be 2.5GB. The Galaxy Note 3 is also thought to have a 13-megapixel rear camera with 4K video recording, a 3200 mAh battery, and will run the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system overlaid with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI. There are also likely to be software improvements for the S Pen stylus.
Since yesterday we have heard some more snippets, such as a leaked benchmark from evleaks that claims to be for the Note 3 LTE SM-N9005 model. The possibility of a fingerprint sensor for the Note 3 also raised its head, although that was later refuted. However, further to this a Samsung employee has also claimed that the Note 3 will have a fingerprint scanner at the back of the phone featuring dual-user modes, according to Phone Arena.
In one further piece of news an image has come to light that is said to be a camera sample from the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and shows exceptional quality. Take a look at the image above that was shown on TechKiddy and tell us what you think. The Picasa source has already been pulled though.
We’ll be following the official debut of the phone later today and will bring you plenty of information about the device. Now we’ve told you what we’re expecting for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 we’d like to hear your thoughts.
Would you be happy if the Note 3 turned up with all of the above rumored specs, features and design? Maybe you’re hoping for other specs and a completely new design? We’ve still a few hours to go until we know for sure, so why not send us your comments and tell us what you’d like to see for the Galaxy Note 3.
