There have been many mobile users of both the Android and iOS platforms eagerly awaiting the arrival of the BlackBerry Messenger service since it was announced that it was coming, and now finally it seems that the BBM for Android release has been finally revealed after some Samsung confusion.
We have heard that Samsung has been heavily promoting the upcoming BBM for Android app, and yesterday a tweet by the company’s Nigerian arm revealed that it will be released this coming Friday. It also suggested that the app would have a three month Android exclusive for the company which would anger the millions of Android fans that own other devices.
Luckily this is not the case though as CrackBerry reached out for conformation about this news and were told that the app would not be exclusive to any one manufacturer upon its release. The statement continued by saying the app will be arriving soon for both the Android and iOS platforms.
Previously BlackBerry executives stated the app will arrive this summer which officially ends on September 21st, so a release on Friday will just fit in with this. There has also been a thought that the iOS 7 public release will have to come before BBM is released simultaneously across the two mobile platforms.
There is a mystery BlackBerry event planned for tomorrow across three locations which could also be used to showcase the apps launch and to officially announce its arrival, but it now seems that those users that have long been waiting for BBM’s arrival only have a couple more days to wait to download the app for their device.
