This year we have seen more handset manufacturers bringing out flagship smartphones that have dust and waterproofing, which is great if you need such a device for your work or activities but if you only need such protection occasionally a case might provide the perfect solution. Now the new OtterBox Preserver case has been announced that brings waterproofing to the iPhone 5S, 5C, and Samsung Galaxy S4.
Shortly after the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C were released we told you about some OtterBox cases that were already available, but the new Preserver case range goes that little bit further in protecting that treasured handset.
They are water, drop, and dust proof and once fitted to your smartphone it can be submerged into water of a depth of 6.6 feet for a maximum of 30 minutes, and they will also protect the handset from a drop of up to 6.6 feet.
At the same time the Preserver case will also prevent dust and other particles from getting inside the device, and are made up of two pieces that consists of a solid plastic frame that is lined with a foam that will snugly fit over the handset and protect it from shocks.
There is also a built in screen protector to keep scratches at bay with the range priced at $89.95 with the cases promised soon, and consumers are able to sign up to receive an email notification once they are available. One thing that is not clear is how the case will protect the Touch ID sensor on the iPhone 5S, and whether there is some kind of flap that can be moved to use the feature, but for more details click here.
