While we have yet to see something official about the upcoming new LG Nexus smartphone for 2013 it hasn’t stopped various rumours and image leaks appearing on a daily basis. Now a Nexus 5 release for US carrier Sprint has been teased ahead of an official launch.
We are still waiting for Google to officially launch the Nexus 5 but one of the big appeals for the Nexus 4 last year was its relatively low asking price via Google Play for a high end smartphone without any lengthy contract.
Not everyone can afford to lay out this kind of money straight away which is when a carrier subsidy comes in useful, and now evleaks have provided yet another image of the Nexus 5 that you can see on this page with the information that it is heading to US carrier Sprint.
While the carrier hasn’t carried the Nexus 4 due to its network a recent visit to the FCC has shown us that the Nexus 5 will be compatible with the carrier, but up until now customers have had to make do with the Galaxy Nexus or Nexus S if they wanted to own a device that offered a vanilla Android experience.
We have seen a number of images of the Nexus 5 in the last few days that include the device in a white colour finish as well as an appearance on a big box store’s inventory system. Consumers may still prefer to purchase the Nexus 5 if the price is right via Google Play though as it won’t need a lengthy contract being agreed to.
Do you fancy getting the Nexus 5 via Sprint?
