HTC has been pretty good recently updating its flagship hardware to a later version of the Android operating system, and now it seems as if the Android 4.4 KitKat update should complete soon for the likes of the HTC One and HTC One Mini among others, but there could be disappointment for owners of the HTC One X.
The company has already started the process of updating the HTC One to the later version of the Android OS, but often reliable HTC insider @LlabTooFer has again taken to Twitter to reveal that all new devices such as the HTC One, HTC One Mini, HTC One Max, and the dual SIM HTC One will receive the new firmware in the January to February timeframe.
He also states that all builds will be based on the latest Android 4.4.2 software and he is talking about the European region with the US promised the software a little later this month, which will bring HTC Sense 5.5. He also goes on to state that the HTC One X won’t be getting anymore updates due to the difficulty involved updating the handset with the Tegra 3 processor, and the fact that it is now 18 months old, but this news is not official and previously we heard about a HTC website that provides details of handsets down to get new updates which currently shows the HTC One X to get Android 4.2.2.
It was also claimed that the upcoming HTC Sense 6.0 Android skin won’t be made available to current models on the market until the autumn, and @LlabTooFer also stated that the recent specs leak for the HTC M8 by evleaks is accurate with a name given of either New HTC One or HTC One 2.
