A couple of flagship Samsung smartphones are down to receive the latest version of the Android firmware in the coming weeks, at least according to some carrier schedules. Now the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Android 4.4.2 update release has begun for some users to start downloading, while the Galaxy S4 waits.
A few days ago a test build of the Android 4.4.2 update was leaked for the Samsung Galaxy S4, and now the guys over at SamMobile are reporting that Samsung has begun the rollout of the software for some users owning the Galaxy Note 3.
As is the norm for Android updates the new firmware will be rolled out in a staggered fashion and at the time of writing users in Poland are receiving the update via the Samsung KIES desktop application.
It is believed that the Android 4.4.2 will also arrive over the air as well and is currently available for the Qualcomm Snapdragon powered version of the Galaxy Note 3. It has a build number of N9005XXUENA6 which was previously leaked over the last few days.
It may take a while to reach all end users around the world as various carriers will need to add their own things to the operating system before releasing it to end users, but hopefully it won’t take them too long.
Have you received the update yet where you are?
