The Apple iPhone 5S is already using the 64-bit CPU and there are rumors of the Galaxy S5 getting the same in the future, but keeping to the real news Huawei has revealed its new Octa-Core 64-bit CPU.
Huawei is not only releasing one but three in total but for now here are two we know of, the chipset has not yet been named but CEO Richard Yu has officially announced that the next-generation chipset will be under the HiSilicon brand.
They will feature the quad-core Cortex A-53 and quad-core Cortex A-57 combination, and it will be the A-57 that carries the job of heavy usage. Looks like Huawei are going to follow Apple’s footsteps when it comes to its new 64-bit Octa-core chipset, which is exciting.
Richard Yu said on his Weibo account that they completed the development on the two new Hisilicon processors, one will be an Octa-core CPU on Cortex-A15 and Cortex-A7 and the other will be a 28nm quad-core CPU on ARM Cortex-A9 — both have FDD-LTE and GSM/WCDMA/TD-SCDMA/TD-LTE modems.
All we got to do now is sit back and wait, many questions popping up now includes: What Huawei devices will they put the new chips in? And when will they show us the benchmark tests?
What smartphone would you like Huawei to use for the new 64-bit processor?
