LG Optimus G, G Pro Android 4.4 update in testing
Smartphone manufacturer LG has been busy in the last year or so building its presence in the market by offering consumers more desirable hardware with the last two Nexus devices leading the way. The company does have a number of other devices that have been purchased by consumers and the LG Optimus G and Optimus G Pro are apparently in testing for the Android 4.4 KitKat update.
The guys over at Phone Arena have been contacted by a reader and provided details that apparently shoes that both the LG Optimus G and Optimus G Pro are currently being tested with the Android 4.4 KitKat update.
It has been reported that the LG Optimus G Pro will get the new flavour of Android along with an added bonus of the KnockOn feature, which allows the device to be either locked or unlocked with a simple double tap on the handsets display.
There has been talk of the LG Optimus G getting the update previously but it turned out to be only 4G support. Hopefully if this rumour is true the company doesn’t encounter any issues with the firmware running on the two devices and eventually provides a public release.
This shouldn’t be a problem as one of the big features of the new Android firmware when it was originally launched was its lower spec requirements, but like any new Android software release we then have to wait for various carriers to push out the update.
Do you hope this rumour proves accurate?
