Samsung has been busy in the last few months pushing out new updates to a number of its high end handsets, and now just a week after the other version of the handset also started to receive the same firmware update the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 SM-N900 Android 4.4 KitKat update gets underway.
Last week the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 powered Samsung Galaxy Note 3 started receiving the new firmware in Poland, and now the 3G only Samsung Exynos version of the handset is getting the same update in Russia.
The two updates are bringing the handset up to build number KOT49H that sees the handset using a stock Android style with white notifications. Users will also find a restyled lock screen along with some other minor tweaks.
Other improvements include the Samsung keyboard now has a new layout for use in landscape mode to help improve gesture typing, and album art now appears on the lockscreen in full screen while playing music.
Of course like any Android update it will take a while to reach all regions and will see further delays once the various carriers get hold of it adding their own tweaks. The update can be downloaded via the Samsung KIES desktop application or you can check for it manually via the handset via Settings > More> About Device> Software update, and then selecting Update.
